If it can be cut, stitched, pressed, and worn, Mandy’s probably tried it! A lifelong maker with an obsession for vibrant colour palettes and sumptuous textures, Mandy Fleener is the creative spirit behind Aletheia Patterns—a pattern line designed especially for pear-shaped women who struggle to find charmingly proportioned garments that fit and flatter their curves.
From the satisfying swish of sharp scissors cutting through fabric to the steady, rhythmic whir of her sewing machine, Mandy’s studio is a happy, colourful space filled with buttons, fabric scraps, trusty sewing books, and bolts of textiles (and usually a warm, steaming cup of coffee nearby!).
She believes sewing is so much more than just a hobby or a finished piece—it’s a joyful stewardship of our skills, a cultivation of community, and a gift of love. It’s about the pure thrill of learning a new technique, the art of creative playfulness, and the sheer delight of making things with your own two hands.

- Favourite Sewing Tool: Razor blade (though her seam ripper might get jealous)
- Material She Can’t Resist Buying (Even When She Doesn’t Need It): Plaids & Checks–ginghams too!
- Go-To Sewing Fuel: Coffee—sewing is better with caffeine
- Most Likely to Be Found Wearing: A merino cardigan covered in thread and comfy slippers (probably carrying a hot water bottle too)
- Playlist While Sewing: either silence for concentration (struggles to do more than one thing at a time!) or a Grey Havens mixed playlist
- Sewing She Keeps Coming Back To: Dresses–they can be turned into tops for variety and feel lovely to wear everyday (and they hide my chunky legs!)
